Eastern Florida State vs Miami Dade

Preview: Eastern Florida State Titans at Miami Dade Sharks

MIAMI (Interstat) — A key men’s junior college basketball rematch is set for Saturday when the Eastern Florida State Titans visit the Miami Dade Sharks.

The Titans (13-6) enter with momentum, winners of three straight, including a 98-93 overtime victory over Daytona State on Wednesday. The Sharks (6-7) snapped a three-game skid with a 77-73 road win at Hillsborough on the same night.

This contest carries added weight as Miami Dade secured a 79-72 victory at Eastern Florida State just one month ago, on Jan. 7. The Titans will be looking to avenge that loss and continue their climb in the standings.

A major focus will be Eastern Florida State forward Sean Register Jr., who is playing at an elite level. Register is coming off a 30-point, 14-rebound performance in the overtime win and has averaged 25.8 points and 9.8 rebounds over his last four games. His matchup in the frontcourt will be pivotal.

Miami Dade will counter with guard David Verstraeten, a key contributor who scored 22 points and dished five assists in a Jan. 17 game against Santa Fe. Verstraeten’s backcourt play will be crucial for the Sharks’ offensive flow against a Titans team averaging over 87 points per game during its current win streak.

While Eastern Florida State boasts the better overall record, Miami Dade has proven it can win this specific matchup. The Sharks’ defense, which held the Titans to 72 points in January, will need a similar effort to contain Register and the Titans’ high-scoring attack.

The game tips off at 4 p.m. EST on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, at Miami Dade College.
