Late Rally Lifts Monmouth Past Towson in Colonial Athletic Association Clash

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (Interstat) — Nick Lovarco drove in five runs, including a go-ahead two-run double in the eighth inning, as the Monmouth Hawks rallied to defeat the Towson Tigers 10-8 on Sunday afternoon at Monmouth Baseball Field.

Lovarco’s first-inning three-run homer and eighth-inning double keyed the Hawks’ offense, overcoming a strong outing from Towson’s Max D’Alessandro, who went 3 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs. Monmouth trailed 8-6 before scoring four times in the eighth. Brendan Kenneally earned the win in relief for the Hawks (19-13, 14-18 Colonial). The Tigers (14-18) stranded the tying run on base in the ninth.
