Hensley Dominates as Campbell Routs William & Mary in Colonial Opener
LILLINGTON, N.C. (Interstat) — Connor Hensley struck out nine over five scoreless innings, and Andrew Schuldt launched a grand slam to power Campbell past William & Mary 9-2 on Friday at Jim Perry Stadium in the Colonial Athletic Association opener for both teams.
Schuldt’s blast to deep left field in the second inning off Tribe starter Charles Seneker gave the Fightin’ Camels a 4-0 lead they never relinquished. Hensley allowed only two hits to earn the win, stifling the William & Mary offense.
Campbell added two runs on a Jett Music single in the sixth and three more over the final two innings, including a two-run single by Elijah Clayton. William & Mary scored both its runs in the fourth on an RBI double by Kosuda and a sacrifice fly by Iriotakis.
Campbell improved to 5-7 overall, while William & Mary fell to 5-6. The teams continue their series Saturday.
