CAMPBELL AT COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (Interstat) — The Campbell Fightin Camels and College of Charleston Cougars open a three-game Colonial Athletic Association series Friday at 6 p.m. at CofC Baseball Stadium at Patriot’s Point.
Campbell (26-14, 11-7 CAA) visits with the league’s top ERA entering the weekend. Right-hander Caleb White, a key arm out of the bullpen, has not allowed a hit in seven innings across his past two appearances, including 3.0 scoreless innings Tuesday at Charlotte. He also threw 2.2 scoreless frames March 29 against the Cougars in a 3-2 Campbell victory.
College of Charleston (20-20, 9-6) counters with shortstop Will Tippett, who homered and drove in three runs Tuesday in a 7-5 win over Charleston Southern. Tippett has three home runs in his past seven games, though he is 2-for-17 in his past four.
The Cougars lost two of three earlier this season at Campbell, dropping 12-10, 6-3 and 3-2 decisions March 27-29. The Fightin Camels are 7-3 in their past 10 games.
Weather at game time is expected to be 77 degrees and clear. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 7-6 Cougars win, though the ELO system gives Campbell a 50.3 percent probability of victory.
