Rossow Dominates as Campbell Defeats College of Charleston
LILLINGTON, N.C. (Interstat) — David Rossow struck out nine over six strong innings, leading Campbell to a 6-3 victory over College of Charleston in Colonial Athletic Association baseball Saturday at Jim Perry Stadium.
The Fightin’ Camels (17-9, 2-0 CAA) erased an early three-run deficit with a four-run second inning. Trent Rumley’s two-run double gave Campbell the lead, and Carlos Lugo drove in two runs. Rossow allowed just two hits and one earned run to secure the win.
The Cougars (10-16, 0-2) scored all three runs in the first inning but were stifled thereafter. Dylan Johnson had three of Charleston’s eight hits. Campbell managed seven hits but capitalized on wild pitches and a passed ball for two runs.
The teams conclude the three-game series Sunday afternoon.
