LILLINGTON, N.C. (March 27, 2026) (Interstat) — The Campbell Fightin’ Camels, riding a five-game winning streak, will host the College of Charleston Cougars in the opener of a three-game series Friday at Jim Perry Stadium.

First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. under cloudy skies with a game-time temperature near 76 degrees.

Campbell (15-9) enters with momentum, having won eight of its last nine contests. The Fightin’ Camels are coming off a 7-2 road win at North Carolina State on Tuesday, powered by a 2-for-5, four-RBI performance from first baseman Joey Morton that included a home run. Morton has been a key offensive force, homering three times and driving in 12 runs over his last 10 games.

The College of Charleston (10-14) looks to snap a two-game skid after falling 5-2 to Georgia Southern on Wednesday. The Cougars have struggled for consistency, alternating wins and losses over their past eight games.

A player to watch for the Cougars is reliever Austin Wiegandt, who has been effective in recent outings. Over his last four appearances spanning eight innings, Wiegandt has allowed just one earned run on four hits while striking out seven.

Campbell’s offense, averaging over nine runs per game during its current 8-1 stretch, will test a Charleston pitching staff that has a 5.12 team ERA. The Cougars’ lineup will face a Campbell pitching group that posted a 1.44 ERA in the midweek victory at N.C. State, led by three scoreless innings from Owen Simmons.

According to Interstat, the Fightin’ Camels are projected favorites with a 54.9% probability to win. The organization’s game simulator predicts a 7-4 Campbell victory.

This series is organized by the Colonial Athletic Association. The teams will meet again Saturday and Sunday to conclude the set before Campbell travels to face North Carolina next Tuesday. Charleston visits Winthrop on Tuesday.
