RALEIGH, N.C. (Interstat) — The surging Campbell Fightin’ Camels look to extend their win streak against the 14th-ranked North Carolina State Wolfpack in a nonconference matchup Tuesday night at Doak Field.
First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. under cloudy skies with temperatures near 70 degrees.
Campbell (14-9) rides a four-game winning streak into Raleigh, having swept a weekend series at Towson by a combined score of 51-16. The Fightin’ Camels’ offense is averaging 11.4 runs per game during the streak.
A key catalyst has been third baseman Jonah Oster. The junior is 14 for 39 (.359) with five home runs and 16 RBIs over his last 10 games, including a 4-for-5 performance with a homer and two RBIs in Sunday’s 12-8 win at Towson.
North Carolina State (18-6), ranked 14th in the latest national polls, aims to rebound after dropping two of three in a weekend series at Florida State. The Wolfpack fell 15-5 in Sunday’s finale.
Second baseman Luke Nixon has been a consistent bright spot, hitting safely in eight of his last 10 games. He went a combined 6 for 9 with four RBIs in the first two games of the Florida State series.
The Wolfpack hold a notable edge in overall record and strength of schedule, but Campbell brings significant momentum. The Fightin’ Camels have won seven of their last nine.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a high-scoring affair, favoring Campbell 8-6.
Following this midweek contest, both teams jump back into conference play this weekend. NC State opens a three-game ACC series at Georgia Tech on Friday. Campbell begins a Big South series at home against College of Charleston on Friday.
