FORT MYERS, Fla. (Interstat) — Gonzaga held off Marquette for a 65-61 win in a women’s NCAA basketball game Sunday at Florida SouthWestern State. The Bulldogs overcame a halftime deficit by outscoring the Golden Eagles 35-23 in the second half. Lauren Whittaker led Gonzaga with 23 points and 13 rebounds. Skylar Forbes scored a team-high 24 points for Marquette, which built an early lead but could not maintain its offensive rhythm. With the win, Gonzaga evened its season record at 4-4, while Marquette fell to 4-3.
