CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (Interstat) — Belmont defeated Northern Iowa 70-58 in a women’s NCAA Division I basketball game Saturday at McLeod Center. The Bruins improved to 14-9 overall, while the Panthers fell to 11-12.

Tuti Jones led all scorers with 18 points for Belmont. Jailyn Banks added 14 points and seven assists. For Northern Iowa, Ryley Goebel and Jenna Twedt each scored 15 points, and Elise Jaeger grabbed 11 rebounds.

Belmont built a steady lead, holding a 31-28 advantage at halftime and extending it after the break. The Bruins outscored the Panthers 22-18 in the fourth quarter to secure the win. Attendance was 2,540.
