SAN DIEGO (Interstat) — Two teams seeking their first win of the season will meet Friday when the Denver Pioneers face the UC San Diego Tritons in a non-conference women’s basketball game at RIMAC Arena.

The Pioneers will lean on guard Coryn Watts, who led the team with 19 points, five rebounds and three assists in the opener. Forward Laia Monclova added nine points and eight rebounds, and Brooke Murrell contributed nine points and seven rebounds.

Friday’s game is the first of a two-game Southern California road trip for Denver, which plays at Loyola Marymount on Sunday. UC San Diego’s next game is at home against Sacramento State on Nov. 12.
