DAYTON, Ohio (Interstat) — Two Atlantic 10 women’s basketball teams seeking momentum will meet Wednesday when the Saint Bonaventure Bonnies visit the Dayton Flyers at University of Dayton Arena.
The Bonnies (12-9 overall) enter on a three-game skid, most recently an 83-74 home loss to La Salle on Saturday. Olivia DiFranco led the team with 12 points in that contest, part of a recent stretch where she has seen increased minutes. The guard averaged 8.0 points over her last three games after limited action in prior outings.
Dayton (10-10) looks to rebound from a 79-66 home defeat to Rhode Island on Sunday. Flyers’ center Fatima Ibrahim nearly posted a double-double in the loss, finishing with nine points and nine rebounds. Ibrahim has been a defensive force, recording multiple blocks in five of her last eight games, including a 12-point, 11-rebound, four-block performance in a win at Fordham on Jan. 10.
The matchup features contrasting trajectories within conference play. Saint Bonaventure has lost five of its last six, while Dayton has split its last six, showing inconsistency but flashes of capability, notably in a 75-58 road win at Duquesne last Wednesday.
Historically, Dayton has dominated the series, winning 18 of the last 20 meetings. The Flyers will look to leverage their home court, where they are 7-4 this season. The Bonnies, just 3-6 in true road games, aim to reverse their recent fortunes and find an offensive rhythm after being held under 60 points in four of their last six losses.
Following this game, Saint Bonaventure travels to face Loyola Chicago on Saturday. Dayton continues its homestand Sunday against George Washington.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST.
