CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Interstat) — The Austin Peay Governors look to build on a signature win when they visit the Chattanooga Lady Mocs in a nonconference women’s basketball game Thursday.

Austin Peay (2-1) is coming off a 77-73 victory over Indiana State on Sunday. The Governors had a balanced scoring attack in the win, led by Veronaye Charlton’s 15 points. Jim’Miyah Branton and Anovia Sheals added 10 and 14 points, respectively, with all three players also dishing out four assists.

Chattanooga (2-3) seeks to rebound on its home court at McKenzie Arena after a 79-66 loss to UAB on Sunday. The Lady Mocs were paced in that contest by Caia Elisaldez, who scored a game-high 25 points. Gianna Corbitt added seven points and seven rebounds.

The Governors’ only loss this season came against Southeastern Conference opponent Vanderbilt. Chattanooga has faced a challenging early schedule, including a road loss to Florida.

This is the first of a two-game road trip for Austin Peay, which travels to Southern Illinois on Sunday. Chattanooga remains at home to host Northern Kentucky on Saturday.
