Tennessee at Middle Tennessee

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (Interstat) — The No. [Ranking TBD] Tennessee Lady Volunteers look to extend their three-game winning streak when they visit the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders on Thursday in a nonconference women’s basketball showdown.

Tennessee (3-1) enters the matchup at Murphy Athletics Center following a 68-58 home victory over Belmont on Nov. 13. Talaysia Cooper led the way with 22 points in that contest. The Lady Volunteers’ only loss this season was a narrow 80-77 defeat on the road against North Carolina State.

Middle Tennessee (2-2) seeks to rebound after a 66-59 road loss to Rice on Nov. 15. Blair Baugus was a bright spot in the defeat, scoring 22 points and grabbing seven rebounds. The Blue Raiders are 1-1 at home this season.

The intrastate matchup pits a potent Tennessee offense, which has scored 72 or more points in three games, against a Middle Tennessee squad looking to find consistency after alternating wins and losses through its first four contests.

The game is a final tune-up for Tennessee before a challenging West Coast road trip featuring games against UCLA and Stanford. Middle Tennessee will travel to Florida to face Providence in its next contest.
