Fordham at Seton Hall
NEWARK, N.J. (Interstat) — The undefeated Seton Hall Pirates will put their perfect record on the line Thursday when they host the Fordham Rams in a non-conference women’s basketball matchup at Prudential Center.
Seton Hall (3-0) is coming off a dominant West Coast road trip, where they defeated Pacific 79-57 on Sunday. Mariana Valenzuela led the way in that victory with 16 points and eight rebounds, while Jada Eads added 14 points and five assists. The Pirates also secured a win at San Francisco last Friday, showcasing a potent offense that has averaged over 82 points per game.
Fordham (3-2) looks to rebound after a 67-59 road loss to Buffalo on Sunday. Despite the defeat, the Rams saw balanced scoring from Ornella Niankan, Alexis Black and Emma Wilson-Saltos, who each contributed 13 points. Wilson-Saltos also pulled down eight rebounds.
The Rams have been strong at home this season but are 0-1 in true road games. They will face a tough test against a Seton Hall team that has opened the season with three consecutive double-digit victories.
Thursday’s contest is the start of a challenging stretch for Seton Hall, which will face Princeton, North Carolina State and Auburn in the coming weeks. Fordham will return home to host Manhattan on Sunday.
