Louisiana Tech at Louisiana-Monroe
MONROE, La. (Interstat) — An early-season in-state rivalry tips off Friday when the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks host the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters in a nonconference women’s basketball game.
The Warhawks (1-0) look to build on their season-opening 80-71 victory over Eastern Michigan this past Monday. Louisiana-Monroe’s balanced attack was led by Asjah Inniss (11 points, 6 rebounds) and Keshunti Nichols (12 points, 5 rebounds).
Louisiana Tech (0-1) seeks its first win after falling 93-81 on the road at Arkansas on Tuesday. Despite the loss, the Lady Techsters had several strong individual performances. Jordan Marshall scored a team-high 20 points, while Joy MadisonKey added 13 points and Paris Bradley contributed 16 points.
The game at Fant-Ewing Coliseum pits a Warhawks team beginning a lengthy homestand against a Lady Techsters squad looking to gain momentum before their own home opener next Tuesday against Louisiana Christian.
Louisiana-Monroe will play four of its next five games at home, while Louisiana Tech embarks on a stretch with seven of its next eight contests in the state of Louisiana.
