Utah Valley at Texas-Arlington

Preview: Utah Valley Wolverines at Texas-Arlington Mavericks

ARLINGTON, Texas (Interstat) — Two teams seeking momentum in the second half of the conference schedule will meet Saturday when the Utah Valley Wolverines visit the Texas-Arlington Mavericks in a women’s NCAA Division I basketball game at College Park Center.

The matchup is a quick rematch, as the Mavericks (8-13) earned a 59-47 home victory over the Wolverines (9-10) on Jan. 17. Texas-Arlington will look to replicate that defensive success, which included holding Utah Valley standout Amanda Barcello to 13 points.

Barcello enters this game as Utah Valley’s primary offensive threat. The guard is coming off a 17-point performance in a 70-67 win over Tarleton State on Jan. 29 and erupted for 31 points in a loss to California Baptist on Jan. 24. Her scoring prowess will be central to Utah Valley’s hopes of avenging its earlier loss.

Texas-Arlington counters with forward Laura Bello, who dominated the glass in the Mavericks’ most recent outing, grabbing 15 rebounds to go with two blocks in a loss at California Baptist on Jan. 31. Her presence inside was key in the first meeting with Utah Valley, and she will again be tasked with controlling the paint defensively.

Both teams have struggled for consistency. Since beating Utah Valley, Texas-Arlington has dropped three consecutive games. Utah Valley snapped a four-game skid with its narrow win over Tarleton State but remains just 2-5 in its last seven contests.

The game tips off at 2 p.m. CST on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026. Following this contest, Utah Valley hosts Utah Tech on Feb. 12, while Texas-Arlington remains home to face Abilene Christian on the same date. The teams will meet for a third time this season in Orem, Utah, on Feb. 21.
