Preview: Wisconsin Badgers at Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Interstat) — The Ohio State Buckeyes look to rebound from a rare conference loss when they host the Wisconsin Badgers in a Big Ten women’s basketball matchup Thursday night at Value City Arena.

Ohio State (17-3, 7-2 Big Ten) saw a seven-game winning streak snapped in a 91-70 defeat at then-Iowa on Sunday. The Buckeyes, whose only other losses are to UCLA and TCU, are 9-0 at home this season.

Star guard Jaloni Cambridge continues to be a national player of the year candidate, averaging 26.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 6.0 assists over her last three games. She posted a 26-point, 10-rebound double-double in the loss at Iowa.

Wisconsin (13-8, 5-5) arrives after a tough 88-53 loss at Minnesota on Sunday. The Badgers have struggled on the road in conference play, with a 1-4 record away from home against Big Ten foes.

The Badgers will rely on guard Kyrah Daniels, who has scored in double figures in eight of her last nine games, including two 20-point performances. She leads the team in scoring during conference play.

Ohio State won both meetings last season by an average of 32.5 points. The Buckeyes’ high-pressure defense, which forces over 21 turnovers per game, will challenge a Wisconsin team that committed 22 turnovers in its last outing.

The game tips off at 7 p.m. EST and will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network. Following this contest, Ohio State hosts Nebraska on Sunday, while Wisconsin returns home to face Indiana on Feb. 4.
