Ohio State at Connecticut

HARTFORD, Conn. (Interstat) — Two of the nation’s remaining undefeated teams will clash Sunday when the Ohio State Buckeyes visit the top-ranked Connecticut Huskies in a marquee nonconference women’s basketball showdown.

The Huskies (3-0) have looked dominant in their early schedule, including a 99-67 rout of Florida State and a 79-66 road win at Louisville. They are coming off an 85-31 victory over Loyola Chicago on Wednesday, where freshman Sarah Strong stuffed the stat sheet with 11 points, three rebounds, four assists and three blocks in just 19 minutes. KK Arnold added 11 points and five assists.

Ohio State (2-0) arrives at XL Center after a pair of lopsided home wins, most recently a 90-33 triumph over Bellarmine on Thursday. In that game, guard Jaloni Cambridge led the way with 18 points and eight rebounds in just 16 minutes of play.

The matchup features two powerhouse programs with contrasting strengths. UConn’s balanced attack, featuring Strong, Arnold and Azzi Fudd, will be tested by an Ohio State offense that has averaged 89 points per game. The contest serves as a major early-season test for both teams before they dive deeper into their respective schedules.
