Western Michigan at Michigan State

EAST LANSING, Mich. (Interstat) — The undefeated Michigan State Spartans will look to continue their dominant start to the season when they host the Western Michigan Broncos in a nonconference women’s basketball game Sunday at Breslin Events Center.

The Spartans (3-0) have won their first three games by an average of 47.7 points. They are coming off a 96-52 rout of Youngstown State on Wednesday, where transfer forward Grace VanSlooten led the way with 17 points and six rebounds. Michigan State’s high-powered offense has scored at least 92 points in every game this season.

Western Michigan (1-2) arrives with momentum after securing its first win, a 65-64 road victory at Milwaukee on Thursday. The Broncos were carried by the backcourt duo of Kailey Starks (21 points) and De’Ahna Richardson (22 points), who each added six rebounds.

The matchup pits Michigan State’s overwhelming offense against a Western Michigan team that has struggled to score, averaging just 58 points per game in its two losses. The Broncos will need another standout performance from Starks and Richardson to challenge the Spartans on their home court.
