Balanced Scoring Leads Northeastern Women to Road Win Over Yale

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Interstat) — The Northeastern women’s basketball team earned its first victory of the season Friday night, defeating Yale 75-64 at Payne Whitney Gymnasium. The Huskies used a strong first half, outscoring the Bulldogs 40-36 by halftime, and maintained control throughout the second half to secure the non-conference win. Northeastern’s offense was fueled by a balanced scoring effort, with four players—Morgan Matthews, Yirsy Quéliz, Nariyah Simmons and Camryn Collins—each scoring 14 or 15 points. Yale’s Kiley Capstraw led all scorers with 19 points in the losing effort. Northeastern improved to 1-1, while Yale begins its season 0-1.
