NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Interstat) — The Yale and Northeastern women’s basketball teams will each be seeking their first win of the season when they meet Friday at Payne Whitney Gymnasium.

The Bulldogs (0-0) open their 2025-26 campaign after concluding last season with a 53-44 loss to Brown on March 8. Northeastern (0-1) looks to rebound from a season-opening 75-60 home loss to Long Island on Monday.

In the defeat, guard Yirsy Quéliz led the Huskies with 11 points and five assists in 33 minutes. Nariyah Simmons and Taylor Holohan each added six points.

This non-conference matchup begins a challenging stretch for both squads. Following this game, Northeastern will host Boston University on Tuesday before a three-game road trip. Yale will also play its home opener against Hofstra on Tuesday before hitting the road for a game at Saint John’s.

Tipoff is set for Friday, Nov. 7, in New Haven.
