STEPHENVILLE, Texas (Interstat) — The McNeese State Cowgirls and Tarleton State Texans will look to steady their early-season trajectories when they meet in a nonconference women’s basketball game Sunday at Wisdom Gym.

McNeese State (1-1) enters the contest looking to rebound from a 64-44 road loss to Alabama on Nov. 6. Tyreona Sibley led the Cowgirls with 12 points in that defeat. Their season opened with a dominant 100-38 home victory over Pensacola Christian.

Tarleton State (2-2) is also coming off a loss, falling 79-64 at Texas A&M on Thursday. Gia Adams poured in 21 points for the Texans in the losing effort. Their season has been marked by tight contests, including a double-overtime win over Houston Christian and an overtime loss to Arkansas State.

The game represents a final tune-up for both teams before challenging stretches. McNeese State will next host LSU-Alexandria on Nov. 22 before heading to the Bahamas for a game against West Virginia. Tarleton State faces a tough road test at TCU on Nov. 20.

Tipoff is set for Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025.
