Bryant Dominates Stonehill in Lopsided Women’s Basketball Contest
EASTON, Mass. (Interstat) — The Bryant Bulldogs remained undefeated, delivering a commanding 77-48 victory over the Stonehill Skyhawks in a non-conference women’s basketball game Saturday at Merkert Gymnasium.
Bryant’s dominance was established early and never relented. The Bulldogs opened the game on a 14-2 run, stifling the Stonehill offense and building a lead that would only grow. By halftime, Bryant led 36-15, having held the Skyhawks to single-digit scoring in each of the first two quarters.
The Bulldogs continued their efficient offensive execution in the second half, outscoring Stonehill 41-33 over the final two quarters to secure the lopsided win. The victory improves Bryant’s record to a perfect 6-0 this season, while Stonehill evens its record at 3-3.
Nia Scott led all scorers for Bryant, contributing 16 points to go with six assists. Her presence in the paint was a key component of the Bulldogs’ overwhelming 50-16 advantage in points scored near the basket.
Bryant’s backcourt was equally impactful. Mia Mancini orchestrated the offense with a game-high seven assists while adding 11 points. Mimi Rubino provided a scoring punch from the perimeter, finishing with 13 points, including three shots made from beyond the three-point line.
The Bulldogs’ offensive attack was balanced and efficient. Martina Boba added 12 points, and Maranda Nyborg chipped in nine points, further highlighting the team’s depth and ability to score from multiple positions.
Defensively, Bryant was disruptive throughout, converting Stonehill turnovers into points and protecting the rim with several blocked shots. The Skyhawks struggled to find any consistent rhythm, with their highest-scoring quarter being the third, where they managed 19 points.
For Stonehill, Reese Roggenburk and Brooke Paquette each finished with a team-high nine points. Emma Arcà and Julia Webster added eight and six points, respectively, but the Skyhawks were unable to mount a significant challenge against Bryant’s relentless pressure.
The game was organized under the umbrella of the Northeast Conference. An announced crowd of 143 was on hand to witness the contest.
Bryant will look to extend its winning streak when it travels to face Boston University on Wednesday. Stonehill’s next matchup is at home against Brown on Dec. 3.
