MACON, Ga. (Interstat) — The Mercer Bears look to get back on track when they host the winless Gardner-Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs in a non-conference women’s basketball game Monday at Hawkins Arena.

Mercer (1-1) is coming off a 72-51 home loss to Clemson on Thursday. The Bears opened their season with a 48-39 road win over UNC Asheville on Nov. 3.

Gardner-Webb (0-2) is searching for its first victory after falling 91-68 at West Georgia on Saturday. Nyla Walker led the Runnin’ Bulldogs with 23 points in the loss. In its season opener, Gardner-Webb was held to 47 points in a defeat at Queens (NC).

The game is the first of a two-game road swing for the Runnin’ Bulldogs, who visit Virginia Tech on Thursday. Mercer will hit the road for its next contest, a Thursday matchup at Wake Forest.
