HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (Interstat) — The Mississippi women’s basketball team cruised to an 84-45 victory over Alabama A&M on Friday night at T.M. Elmore Gymnasium. The Rebels improved to 2-0 behind a stifling defense that forced 29 Bulldogs turnovers, converting them into 36 points. Cotie McMahon led Mississippi with 20 points, while Maori Davenport scored 18 for Alabama A&M, which fell to 1-1. The Rebels never trailed, opening a 25-10 lead after the first quarter and maintaining control throughout the non-conference game.
