George Washington at Temple
PHILADELPHIA (Interstat) — The Temple Owls used a dominant second-quarter surge to overpower the George Washington Revolutionaries 86-50 in a non-conference women’s basketball game Friday night at the Liacouras Center.
Temple improved to 2-0 on the young season, while George Washington evened its record at 1-1.
The game was a tight, low-scoring affair through the first quarter, with Temple holding a narrow 13-9 lead. The complexion of the contest changed entirely in the second period, as the Owls erupted for 26 points while holding the Revolutionaries to just 10. The 26-point quarter gave Temple a commanding 39-19 halftime advantage and effectively put the game out of reach.
The Owls’ offensive efficiency was the story of the game. They scored 86 points on just 74 possessions, translating to an offensive rating of 116.8. George Washington, by contrast, managed only 50 points on 71 possessions for an offensive rating of 70.7. Temple’s shooting from beyond the arc was a key factor, as they connected on 12 of 19 three-point attempts. George Washington struggled from deep, making only 3 of 17.
Temple’s victory was a balanced effort, with four players scoring in double figures. Jaleesa Molina led the way with 15 points and seven rebounds in 24 minutes. Drew Alexander provided a significant spark off the bench, recording a double-double with 13 points and seven rebounds in just 13 minutes of play. Kaylah Turner added 14 points, and Tristen Taylor facilitated the offense with a game-high eight assists to go with 11 points. Saniyah Craig controlled the glass, pulling down 12 rebounds.
For George Washington, Kamari Sims and Colleen Phiri each scored 11 points. Sims also contributed two blocks for the Revolutionaries, who were hampered by 15 turnovers, which Temple converted into 10 steals.

The announced attendance was 1,302.
Temple entered the game as a heavy favorite, with statistical models giving them a 93.7 percent probability to win. The Owls validated that projection with a comprehensive performance on both ends of the court.
