George Washington at Temple
PHILADELPHIA (Interstat) — Two teams coming off high-scoring, season-opening victories will meet Friday when the Temple Owls host the George Washington Revolutionaries in a non-conference women’s basketball game.
The matchup at the Liacouras Center pits two 1-0 squads looking to build early momentum.
George Washington cruised to an 86-47 win over Dist. Columbia on Monday. The Revolutionaries’ offense was balanced, with Colleen Phiri scoring 18 points, Kamari Sims adding 13 and Mia James contributing 12 points and eight assists.
Temple needed overtime to secure its first win, edging George Mason 94-85. The Owls were led by a dominant frontcourt performance. Forward Saniyah Craig recorded a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds, while Jaleesa Molina added 12 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Tristen Taylor facilitated the offense with 19 points and seven assists.
The game is the first of a challenging stretch for both teams. George Washington faces a road matchup at Longwood on Nov. 17, while Temple prepares for a trip to West Virginia on Nov. 11.
