Atlanta vs. Orlando
Preview: Hawks at Magic, April 1, 2026
ORLANDO, Fla. (Interstat) — The Atlanta Hawks, riding a surge toward the postseason, visit the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night at Kia Center in a key Eastern Conference matchup.
The Hawks (43-33) enter on a high note after defeating the Boston Celtics 112-102 on Monday. They have won nine of their last 11 games and are firmly in the conference’s upper tier. Orlando (39-35), meanwhile, looks to stabilize after a deflating 139-87 road loss to Toronto on Sunday, a defeat that snapped a brief two-game win streak.
All eyes will be on Atlanta forward Jalen Johnson, who is playing at an All-Star level. Over his last 10 games, Johnson is averaging 22.8 points, 9.8 rebounds and 8.5 assists, including a triple-double of 24 points, 15 rebounds and 13 assists in a 124-112 win over these same Magic on March 16. In Atlanta’s most recent victory, he posted 20 points and 12 rebounds.
Orlando will counter with guard Jalen Suggs, its defensive catalyst. Suggs had 13 points and five assists in the loss to Toronto. His recent performances have been varied, but he scored 28 points in a win over Washington on March 12. The Magic will need his two-way energy to slow Atlanta’s momentum.
The season series has been dominated by the Hawks, who have won all three meetings. That includes the 12-point victory on March 16 in Atlanta and a 111-107 win in Orlando back on Oct. 24.
For the Hawks, this game continues a critical stretch against conference opponents as they jockey for playoff positioning. Their next five games are all against Eastern Conference foes, including a rematch with the Cavaliers next week.
The Magic are beginning a tough final stretch. Following this homestand, they embark on a three-game road trip featuring Dallas, New Orleans, and Boston as they fight to secure a spot in the play-in tournament.
Wednesday’s contest tips off at 7 p.m. EDT.
