Los Angeles Dodgers at Arizona Diamondbacks

PHOENIX (Interstat) — The Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks will look to break a scoreless stalemate when they conclude a brief two-game series Wednesday at Chase Field.

The National League West rivals played to a 0-0 tie on Tuesday, a result that leaves the Dodgers (88-68) holding a nine-game lead over the .500 Diamondbacks (79-77) in the division standings. Los Angeles has already clinched the season series, holding a 7-4-1 edge heading into the finale.

The pitching matchup features left-hander Blake Snell (5-4) for the Dodgers against Arizona right-hander Ryne Nelson (7-3). Snell will look to build on a strong recent stretch for Los Angeles, which has won eight of its last 12 games despite a 3-1 loss to San Francisco on Sunday. In that game, Emmet Sheehan tossed seven scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts.

The Diamondbacks, however, are also coming in with momentum after taking two of three from Philadelphia, including a 9-2 rout on Sunday. Corbin Carroll and Jorge Barrosa homered in the win, while Eduardo Rodriguez pitched six shutout innings.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, this contest projects to be a high-scoring affair, with a predicted final of Arizona 7, Los Angeles 6. The Dodgers are installed as pregame favorites with a spread of -1.5, and the over/under is set at 8.5 runs.

Following Wednesday’s game, the Dodgers travel to Seattle for a three-game series, while the Diamondbacks head to San Diego for their final road trip.
