Milwaukee Brewers at San Diego Padres
SAN DIEGO (Interstat) — The playoff-bound Milwaukee Brewers look to rebound from a series loss when they continue a crucial four-game set against the San Diego Padres on Tuesday night at PETCO Park.
The Brewers (95-61), who have already clinched a postseason berth, are aiming to secure home-field advantage after dropping two of three in St. Louis. Milwaukee was shut out 1-0 by the Padres in Monday’s series opener.
San Diego (85-71) is fighting for its playoff life, entering the game in the thick of the wild-card race. The Padres have won five of their last seven, including a series win over the Chicago White Sox over the weekend.
The season series is tied 2-2, with the teams splitting a four-game set in Milwaukee back in June. Both clubs have seen their offenses fluctuate recently. The Brewers were held to one run or less in three of their last four games, while the Padres have shown the ability to score in bunches, posting seven or more runs three times in their last 10 contests.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, Tuesday’s contest projects to be a high-scoring affair, with a predicted final score of Milwaukee 7, San Diego 6.
Following Tuesday’s game, the series concludes Wednesday before both teams return home for their final regular-season series. Milwaukee hosts the Cincinnati Reds, while San Diego welcomes the Arizona Diamondbacks.
