Chicago White Sox at New York Yankees

NEW YORK (Interstat) — The New York Yankees, clinging to playoff hopes, will host the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium to open a three-game series.

The Yankees (88-68) enter the final week of the season after taking three of four from the Baltimore Orioles, including a 7-1, 10-inning victory on Sunday. First baseman Ben Rice powered that win, going 4 for 5 with a home run and five RBIs.

They face a White Sox team (58-98) that has struggled mightily, having lost six of their last seven games. Chicago dropped a 3-2 decision to the San Diego Padres on Sunday, though its bullpen combination of Mike Vasil, Sean Burke and Grant Taylor limited the damage.

When the teams met in Chicago in late August, the Yankees won three of four games, outscoring the White Sox 27-12 over the series. The White Sox, however, avoided a sweep with a 3-2 win in the finale.

According to Interstat, the Yankees are heavy favorites with a 72.2% probability to win. Their game simulator projects a 7-2 victory for New York. The Yankees are installed as a -1.5 run favorite, with an over/under of 9 runs.

Following this series, the Yankees will host the Orioles in a critical season-ending set, while the White Sox will travel to face the Washington Nationals.
