BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Interstat) — The Bakersfield College Renegades will open their 2025-26 men’s basketball season at home against the Cerro Coso Coyotes in a non-conference junior college matchup on Saturday, Nov. 1.

Both teams enter the contest with 0-0 records, looking for a fresh start after concluding their previous seasons with narrow losses. Cerro Coso last played on Feb. 26, 2025, falling 82-73 on the road to Cypress. Bakersfield last took the court on Feb. 21, 2025, dropping a close 74-72 home game to Canyons.

The season opener for the Renegades begins a challenging November schedule that includes a road game at Barstow on Nov. 4 and a home contest against Reedley on Nov. 8.

The Coyotes, who will be playing their first game under new head coach, will not play their home opener until Nov. 15 against Santiago Canyon. This road game kicks off a stretch where Cerro Coso will play seven of its next 10 games at home in Ridgecrest.

The intrastate matchup, organized by the California Community College Athletic Association, will tip off at Bakersfield’s Gil Bishop Sports Center.
