Western Nebraska vs Butler (Kan.)

EL DORADO, Kan. (Interstat) — The Butler (Kan.) Grizzly Bears will look to continue their high-scoring momentum when they host the struggling Western Nebraska Cougars in a men’s junior college basketball game on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025.

Butler (2-1) is coming off a 110-95 home victory over Northeastern Oklahoma A&M on Friday, a game in which Xavier Brown scored 23 points. The Grizzly Bears are averaging 108.3 points per game at home this season, though they are just two games removed from a narrow 95-94 loss to Howard (Tex.).

Western Nebraska (0-2) seeks its first win after dropping its first two contests at home. The Cougars fell 91-82 to Dodge City last Saturday, despite a 26-point, 8-rebound performance from Viktor Lukic-Gavric. Amare Jackson and Xavier Kirkpatrick have also been consistent contributors for the winless Cougars.

The matchup pits Butler’s potent offense against a Western Nebraska defense that has allowed an average of 93 points per game. The Cougars’ upcoming schedule offers little respite, with a road-heavy slate continuing next week.

Butler’s next game is a road contest at Missouri State-West Plains on Monday, Nov. 10.
