SNYDER, Texas (Interstat) — The Western Texas Westerners will look to bounce back from a season-opening loss when they host the Blinn Buccaneers in a men’s junior college basketball game on Thursday.

Western Texas (0-1) is coming off a 51-81 road loss to Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa on Monday. The Westerners’ offense struggled, managing just 51 points in the contest.

Blinn enters the game with an 0-0 record. The Buccaneers’ last official result was a 97-70 victory over Lamar State-Port Arthur on March 6, 2024, concluding their previous season.

This game marks the beginning of a challenging stretch for both teams. Following Thursday’s contest, Western Texas will hit the road for a game at McLennan on Nov. 12. Blinn’s next game is scheduled for Nov. 20 at New Mexico Military.

Tipoff is set for Thursday night at Western Texas’ home court.
