Omaha at Saint Thomas (Minn.)
OMAHA, Neb. (Interstat) — A pivotal Summit League men’s basketball rematch awaits Saturday when the Omaha Mavericks visit the Saint Thomas Tommies at Schoenecker Arena in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
The matchup, scheduled for Feb. 28, 2026, carries significant weight for both teams as the conference season nears its conclusion. Saint Thomas (22-8 overall) enters with a strong record and will look to defend its home court and avenge a narrow loss earlier this month. Omaha (15-15) seeks a resume-building road win to reach .500 in league play and gain momentum.
The teams met just over two weeks prior in Omaha, with the Mavericks outlasting the Tommies 98-94 on Feb. 12. That result is sure to fuel the hosts.
A key player to watch for Omaha is guard Ja’Sean Glover, who torched Saint Thomas for 22 points in the first meeting. Glover is averaging 17.6 points per game over his last seven contests, including a 26-point performance in a win over Oral Roberts on Feb. 18. However, Omaha is coming off a 72-89 loss at South Dakota on Wednesday.
For Saint Thomas, guard Nick Janowski is a primary offensive catalyst. He scored 24 points in a win over Oral Roberts on Feb. 7 and 23 at South Dakota State on Feb. 4. In the loss at Omaha, he was held to 10 points. The Tommies responded from that defeat with three straight wins, including an 84-62 victory over North Dakota State on Thursday, showcasing their defensive capabilities.
The game will be a test of Omaha’s road resilience against a Saint Thomas team that has been dominant at home this season. The Tommies’ potent offense, which has topped 90 points four times since Feb. 1, will challenge a Mavericks defense that allowed 89 points in its last outing.
With postseason positioning on the line, Saturday’s contest offers Saint Thomas a chance to solidify its standing and Omaha an opportunity to sweep the season series and even its record.
