Detroit at Michigan State
EAST LANSING, Mich. (Interstat) — The undefeated and No. 4-ranked Michigan State Spartans host the struggling Detroit Titans in a non-conference men’s basketball matchup on Friday at the Breslin Center.
Michigan State (4-0) is riding high after an impressive 83-66 road victory over then-Kentucky on Tuesday. The Spartans’ offense has been potent, averaging 77.8 points per game. In the win over the Wildcats, Jaxon Kohler scored 20 points and Jeremy Fears Jr. dished out 13 assists, showcasing a balanced and efficient attack.
The Titans (1-4) enter on a three-game losing streak, most recently falling 72-62 to Eastern Michigan at home on Tuesday. Guard Orlando Lovejoy has been a bright spot, scoring 20 points in the loss. Detroit’s sole win came against NAIA opponent Cleary, and the team has allowed 90 or more points in two of its four losses.
The Spartans are heavily favored as they continue a tough early-season schedule that includes a game against North Carolina next week. For Detroit, the matchup begins a difficult road trip. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EST.
