ATHENS, Ohio (Interstat) — Toledo built a commanding first-half lead and held off Ohio for a 79-67 men’s basketball victory Saturday at the Convocation Center.

The Rockets led 41-28 at halftime and maintained a double-digit advantage for much of the second half before a crowd of 6,404. Leroy Blyden led Toledo with 22 points, while Sonny Wilson added 21. Javan Simmons paced Ohio with 20 points.

Toledo improved to 16-13 overall. Ohio fell to 14-14. Both teams are in the Mid-American Conference.
