NEWARK, Del. (Interstat) — New Mexico State never trailed in a commanding 97-68 men’s basketball victory over Delaware on Saturday at Bob Carpenter Center.

The Aggies (10-7) built a 49-30 halftime lead behind efficient shooting, finishing 36 for 63 from the floor and a perfect 11 for 11 on free throws. Five Aggies scored in double figures, led by Jemel Jones with 19 points and five assists.

Delaware (5-13) was paced by Tyler Houser’s 25 points and Christian Bliss’s 19. The Blue Hens shot just 44.2% and were outscored by 29 despite committing only six turnovers.

New Mexico State, which posted an offensive rating of 148.7 on 65 possessions, will host Missouri State on Thursday. Delaware travels to face Liberty next Saturday.
