UAB at North Carolina State

RALEIGH, N.C. (Interstat) — Two teams coming off dominant, season-opening victories will meet Friday night when the UAB Blazers face the North Carolina State Wolfpack at Lenovo Center.

Both teams enter the nonconference matchup with 1-0 records after posting lopsided wins on Monday. UAB dismantled Mississippi Valley State 106-55, while North Carolina State rolled past North Carolina Central 114-66.

The Blazers’ offense was firing on all cylinders, led by Chance Westry, who poured in 23 points in just 19 minutes. Jacob Meyer added 22 points and Ahmad Robinson facilitated with 14 points and 7 assists.

The Wolfpack showcased a balanced and efficient attack in their opener. Darrion Williams filled the stat sheet with 19 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists. Matt Able contributed 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists, while Quadir Copeland scored 15 points off the bench.

The game represents a significant early-season test for both squads before they embark on challenging stretches. For UAB, this begins a tough run of nonconference games, including a trip to Drake on Dec. 5. North Carolina State faces a gauntlet in December, with high-profile matchups against Auburn, Kansas and Mississippi.

Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EST Friday in Raleigh.
