Oral Roberts at Oklahoma State

STILLWATER, Okla. (Interstat) — The Oklahoma State Cowboys opened their season with a decisive 95-71 victory over the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles in a non-conference men’s basketball game Tuesday night at a half-full Gallagher-Iba Arena.

The Cowboys, favored by 19 points, controlled the game from the opening tip, using a balanced scoring attack and superior efficiency to pull away. Oklahoma State led 50-46 at halftime before outscoring Oral Roberts 45-25 in the second half to turn a close contest into a lopsided affair.

Vyctorius Miller led all scorers with 21 points for the Cowboys, while Christian Coleman recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Jaylen Curry filled the stat sheet with 13 points, eight rebounds and six assists, and Parsa Fallah also added 15 points and eight rebounds. The Cowboys’ offense was potent, scoring 95 points on 87 possessions for an offensive rating of 108.9, and they dominated inside with 44 points in the paint.

Oral Roberts was led by Ty Harper’s 18 points and six rebounds. Jack Turner contributed 14 points, and Ofri Naveh finished with 11 points, seven rebounds and three assists. The Golden Eagles struggled mightily with their shooting, connecting on just 24 of 69 attempts from the field, including a dismal 8 of 38 from beyond the three-point arc. Their offensive rating of 83.1 on 85 possessions underscored their inefficiency.

Defensively, Oral Roberts showed a strong presence at the rim, blocking 12 Oklahoma State shots, with Connor Dow swatting away seven by himself. However, the Golden Eagles committed 16 turnovers, which the Cowboys converted into 18 points.

The game’s total of 166 points fell well above the over/under line of 157.5.

With the loss, Oral Roberts begins its season 0-1 and will look to rebound at home against John Brown on Saturday. Oklahoma State starts 1-0 and is scheduled to host Texas A&M on Sunday. The announced attendance was 6,211.
