North Florida at Queens (N.C.)

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Interstat) — A high-scoring ASUN Conference rematch is set for Saturday when the Queens (N.C.) Royals host the North Florida Ospreys at Levine Center.

The Royals (13-11) won the first meeting 89-82 in Jacksonville on Jan. 10. Both teams are coming off victories Thursday; Queens defeated Jacksonville 93-84, while North Florida (6-18) won 81-73 at West Georgia.

The game features two of the league’s most dynamic guards. North Florida’s Kamrin Oriol is averaging 26.4 points and 6.4 assists over his last eight games, including a 33-point, 15-assist performance in a Jan. 24 overtime win against Bellarmine and 35 points in a loss to Lipscomb on Jan. 31. He scored 29 against Queens in January.

Queens counters with Yoav Berman, who had 16 points and three assists in the earlier win over North Florida. He is averaging 14.6 points per game this season and posted 17 points in the win over Jacksonville.

The Royals have been strong at home, winning three of their last four in Charlotte. The Ospreys, despite their record, have shown offensive firepower, scoring 105 or more points in two of their six wins.

North Florida will look to slow Queens’ balanced attack, which saw Nasir Mann (15 points) and Maban Jabriel (14 points) join Berman in double figures Thursday. The Ospreys received 17 points from Kent Jackson and 10 from Mason Lee alongside Oriol’s 22 in their last outing.

Queens holds the edge in the standings and seeks a regular-season sweep. North Florida aims to build on its recent road win and split the series.

Tipoff is scheduled for Saturday afternoon. Queens travels to face Austin Peay next Wednesday, while North Florida visits Florida Gulf Coast.
