JONESBORO, Ark. (Interstat) — Arkansas State survived a late push from Texas State for an 83-82 men’s basketball victory Saturday at Convocation Center.

The Red Wolves led 43-37 at halftime but were outscored 45-40 after the break by the Bobcats in the narrow Sun Belt Conference contest. The win improved Arkansas State to 12-5 overall, while Texas State fell to 9-9.

A crowd of 4,059 watched the home team secure the win, overcoming the Bobcats’ second-half rally. Arkansas State had defeated Texas State by 19 points in their previous meeting last month. The game’s total score fell under the sportsbook over/under line.
