Indiana State at Duke
DURHAM, N.C. (Interstat) — The undefeated and third-ranked Duke Blue Devils host the Indiana State Sycamores in a nonconference men’s basketball matchup on Friday at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Duke (3-0) has opened its season with dominant victories, most recently a 114-59 rout of Army on Tuesday. The Blue Devils’ offense has been potent, averaging 94.7 points per game behind a balanced attack. In the win over Army, freshman guard Dame Sarr led all scorers with 19 points, while the highly-touted duo of Cameron Boozer (15 points, 4 assists) and Cayden Boozer (10 points, 8 assists) facilitated the offense with ease. Their most impressive win came in the season opener, a 75-60 victory over a ranked Texas team.
Indiana State (2-1) arrives after a 64-55 road win at SIU Edwardsville on Monday. The Sycamores have relied on a strong inside presence, with Ian Scott posting a double-double of 6 points and 13 rebounds in that contest. Camp Wagner added a team-high 16 points. Their lone loss was a 92-76 defeat at Charlotte.
The game presents a stark contrast in schedules, as this begins a gauntlet for Duke with a matchup against Kansas looming next week. For Indiana State, this is their toughest test before Missouri Valley Conference play begins.
Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EST Friday.
