Arizona at Connecticut

HARTFORD, Conn. (Interstat) — A top-tier, early-season men’s basketball showdown is set for Wednesday as the undefeated Arizona Wildcats face the undefeated Connecticut Huskies at the XL Center.

Both teams enter the non-conference clash with 4-0 records. Arizona is coming off a tough 69-65 road victory over UCLA on Friday, led by Anthony Dell’Orso’s 20 points. The Wildcats have also secured a notable road win at Florida this season.

The reigning national champion Huskies, also 4-0, are fresh from an 86-84 home win over BYU on Saturday. Connecticut’s balanced attack was led by Tarris Reed Jr., Silas Demary Jr. and Alex Karaban, who each scored 21 points in the victory. The Huskies have dominated their home schedule, including a 110-47 rout of UMass-Lowell.

The matchup will feature Arizona’s high-scoring offense against a formidable UConn squad that has showcased its depth and experience in close games. The Wildcats’ backcourt of Dell’Orso and Jaden Bradley will be tested by the Huskies’ defensive pressure and the inside presence of Reed.

Wednesday’s game is a marquee event in both teams’ schedules before each embarks on a challenging slate of upcoming non-conference games.
