Canisius at High Point

HIGH POINT, N.C. (Interstat) — The High Point Panthers look to rebound from their first loss of the season when they host the Canisius Golden Griffins in a nonconference men’s basketball game Monday at Qubein Arena.

High Point (3-1) saw its three-game winning streak snapped in a 91-74 road loss to UAB on Friday. Cam’Ron Fletcher recorded a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Rob Martin added 21 points, seven rebounds and seven assists in the defeat. The Panthers had previously dominated their home schedule, winning their three games in High Point by an average of 41.7 points.

Canisius (2-2) arrives after a narrow 58-55 home victory over Mercyhurst on Wednesday. Christopher Kumu led the Golden Griffins with 16 points, and Bryan Ndjonga added 13 points and five rebounds. The win provided a measure of stability for Canisius, which opened its season with a 48-point loss at Dayton and a 19-point loss at Saint Bonaventure.

The game marks the start of a two-game homestand for High Point, while Canisius continues a stretch with six of its next eight games on the road.
