Doosan at LG
SEOUL, South Korea (Interstat) — The LG Twins look to extend their series dominance over the Doosan Bears in a Sunday afternoon matchup at Jamsil Stadium, with first pitch scheduled for late afternoon.
LG enters the game with the KBO’s best record at 44-26-1, while Doosan sits at 34-35-2. The Twins have won the first two games of this three-game set, including a 4-2 victory Saturday behind Moon Bo-gyeong’s go-ahead three-run homer. Moon, the Twins’ third baseman, has been the club’s most dangerous hitter this series, going 2-for-4 with four RBIs in Saturday’s win. Over his last 11 games, Moon is batting .292 with two home runs and 12 RBIs.
The Bears counter with right-hander Gwak Been, who has been sharp despite a 2-2 record across his last five starts. Gwak worked 5 1/3 innings Saturday against the Twins, allowing one earned run while striking out nine. In his previous two outings, he surrendered just two earned runs over 12 innings. Gwak will face a Twins lineup that has scored 25 runs over its last four home games.
Doosan’s offense managed just four runs in the series’ first two games. Left fielder Ryu Seung-min went 3-for-4 with an RBI in Saturday’s loss, accounting for half the team’s hits.
The forecast calls for rain and a game-time temperature near 69 degrees, which could impact playing conditions.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, the projected final score is LG 6, Doosan 4, with the Twins holding a 66.00 percent win probability in the ELO system.
Following Sunday’s game, Doosan travels to face the Hanwha Eagles for a three-game road series beginning Tuesday. LG hosts the Samsung Lions for a three-game set starting the same day.
The Bears have lost six of their last eight games overall, while the Twins have won seven of their last 10.
