Stockton Edges South Bay in High-Scoring G League Thriller
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (Interstat) — DaQuan Jeffries hit a 26-foot fadeaway jumper with three seconds remaining to lift the Stockton Kings to a 115-114 victory over the South Bay Lakers in a G League game Tuesday night at UCLA Health Training Center.
The Kings survived a furious fourth-quarter rally by the Lakers, who outscored Stockton 35-26 in the final period but fell just short. Stockton built its lead with a 34-point third quarter. Arthur Kaluma led South Bay’s comeback effort.
With the win, Stockton improved to 31-16, while South Bay fell to 31-17. The game was a reversal of the teams’ last meeting on Feb. 28, which South Bay won by 15 points.
