Oklahoma City vs. Memphis

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. (Interstat) — Two teams with identical records but contrasting recent fortunes will meet Sunday when the Memphis Hustle hosts the Oklahoma City Blue in a G League matchup at the DeSoto Civic Center.

Both teams enter the March 22 contest with 15-29 records across all competitions. However, the Hustle are riding high after a 127-109 road victory over Mexico City on March 15, powered by a career-high 48 points from forward Eric Dixon. The Blue, meanwhile, are looking to build momentum after a 130-127 overtime win at Grand Rapids on March 17.

The game features a compelling head-to-head narrative. Just one day prior, on Saturday, March 21, the Hustle defeated the Blue 83-74 in a defensive struggle. This sets up a quick rematch on Memphis’s home floor. The season series is currently tied 2-1 in favor of Oklahoma City, which won decisively in November.

A key matchup will be at power forward between two of the league’s top performers. Memphis’s Dixon is coming off his explosive 48-point outing and has averaged 26.2 points over his last five games. Oklahoma City will counter with Brooks Barnhizer, who is in the midst of a dominant stretch. Over his last four games, Barnhizer has averaged 18.5 points, 11.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists, including a 17-point, 15-rebound, 5-assist effort in the recent overtime win.

Despite the Hustle’s latest win, a statistical projection from Interstat forecasts a reversal Sunday, simulating a 120-100 victory for the visiting Blue.

For Oklahoma City, Viktor Lakhin and Buddy Boeheim, who each scored 17 points in the win over Grand Rapids, provide supporting scoring. Memphis will rely on guard Charlie Brown Jr., who dished out 7 assists in the Mexico City win, and center Orlando Robinson.

Tip-off is scheduled for Sunday afternoon in Southaven.
