Austin vs. Noblesville
NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (Interstat) — The surging Austin Spurs will look to sweep a two-game road set against the struggling Noblesville Boom when the G League teams meet again Sunday at the Arena at Innovation Mile.
Austin (32-14) enters with the league’s second-best record and is coming off a 121-107 victory over the Boom here on Friday night. Noblesville (20-28) has lost seven of its last eight games, with its only win in that span a 141-115 rout of Westchester on March 14.
Spurs forward Harrison Ingram has been a dominant force, averaging a double-double over his last eight games. In Friday’s win over Noblesville, he posted 22 points and 17 rebounds. Over his recent stretch, he is averaging 17.1 points, 12.1 rebounds and 4.6 assists, showcasing his all-around impact.
The Boom will counter with guard Dakota Mathias, who has been a bright spot during the team’s skid. He is averaging 26.5 points over his last six contests, including a 31-point, triple-double performance in the win over Westchester. He scored 26 points in Friday’s loss to Austin.
The matchup pits Austin’s elite record and recent head-to-head advantage against a Noblesville team desperate to stop its slide at home. The Boom’s defense, which has allowed an average of 128.6 points during its 1-7 stretch, will be tested again by a balanced Spurs attack.
Following Sunday’s game, Austin returns home for a three-game stretch starting March 25. Noblesville continues a homestand, hosting Cleveland on March 26.
