South Bay vs. Rip City

PORTLAND, Ore. (Interstat) — The South Bay Lakers and Rip City Remix will complete a quick-turnaround home-and-home set Tuesday when they meet at the Chiles Center.

The G League matchup comes just three days after the Lakers (29-15) earned a 129-122 road victory over the Remix (24-21) on Sunday. South Bay has won the last two meetings between the teams and holds a 3-1 edge in the season series.

The visiting Lakers enter on a hot streak, having won nine consecutive games. Their last loss was on Feb. 18. Forward Adou Thiero has been a key contributor during the run, averaging 15.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists over his last six games. He scored 25 points in a win over Santa Cruz on March 8 and added 20 points in Sunday’s victory over Rip City.

The Remix look to halt their slide after dropping three of their last four, including the last two to the San Diego Clippers. Guard Javonte Cooke has been a bright spot, averaging 20.2 points, 6.2 rebounds and 6.2 assists over his last five contests. He posted a 33-point, 8-rebound effort in a narrow loss to Santa Cruz on Feb. 22.

South Bay’s winning streak has solidified its position near the top of the Western Conference, while Rip City aims to stabilize its playoff positioning with a pivotal divisional win on its home floor.

Following Tuesday’s game, the Remix will host Raptors 905 for a two-game series starting Friday. The Lakers return home to begin a five-game homestand against Grand Rapids on Friday.
